About Irene

I have always photographed people on my journey. My favorite subject to photograph- anything that breathes. I love looking at the images after they have been taken and seeing the surprise's you get that only things that are alive can produce. I try to take a photograph that shows more than a documentation but hopefully a piece of who they are - a slice of their personality.

Because of my knowledge of this medium I am able to control and create certain effects that enhance the image and feeling I am trying to make. I use several different types of papers to also help create the final feeling of the image.I produce the image in black and white , color or Sepia to better enhance the feeling I am trying to convey.

I enjoy making these images because they are usually loved through the years by their family members. It is creating and capturing a happy time in one of the many stages of our life. Later this person or other family members can look upon this image and receive a smile from the memory that the image triggered of the happy time in their life. My work is custom printed on several choices of paper using archival inks.

I am married and have two beautiful daughters. We have a Boykin Spaniel named Cocoa and a big orange cat who has a stump for a tail and is blind. His name is Mr. Cathy. I am a people and animal lover. I love Art. I enjoy the outdoors and am always aware and thankful of being a part of this beautiful world God created.
