This series of images began when my beloved dog, Botticelli, turned 12. By that time her hearing was gone, and she was sleeping most of the day. Someone who saw her said, " She is an old timer". With advances in medicine, animals and humans are living longer. This older stage in people and animals is usually considered a sad one but I believe it is a wonderful stage of life given to us by God. As our animal friends start to depend on us more and more, they show us how it can be done with grace and affection. I want to show these " Old Timers " with the special grace, love and, yes, humor, that can accompany this stage in their lives.
