Birmingham, AL photographer, Irene Thames Gardner has been busy photographing people and their pets.
I enjoyed getting to know this wonderful, accomplished couple that both shared a love for their dogs Saide and Bree. We met at the park in the morning and had a nice session. I was especially touched by the kind heart of Saide’s owner as she was 13 and her legs didn’t work anymore. He put a towel under her and she would walk with her front paws as he lifted the back ones up. It touched my heart. Several weeks later they contacted me to tell me Saide had passed away and were so thankful we had the photo shoot. I printed a black and white of Saide and placed it in the front cover of my “Old Timer’s” book. This makes a great gift for someone who has lost a beloved dog. It was a treat for me to see the love between Saide and her owner.
